Segment 1: The Spiritual Significance of Ramadhan
Ramadhan is a gift from Allah, a time for self-purification and strengthening our Iman.
🔹 Allah says in the Quran:
“O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those before you so that you may attain Taqwa.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 183)
🔹 Hadith:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When Ramadhan begins, the gates of Jannah are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1899)
💡 Reflection:
How can we increase our acts of worship and make this Ramadhan our best one yet?
Segment 2: The Do’s and Don’ts of Fasting
Fasting is not just about abstaining from food and drink—it is about discipline, sincerity, and devotion to Allah.
✅ What is Allowed During Fasting?
✔ Eating and drinking before Fajr (Suhoor)
✔ Using Siwak/miswak or brushing teeth
✔ Taking a bath to cool down
✔ Injections (non-nutritive) for medical purposes
❌ What Breaks the Fast?
❌ Eating or drinking intentionally
❌ Lying, backbiting, and arguing
❌ Smoking or inhaling smoke deliberately
❌ Intentional vomiting
🔹 Hadith:
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever does not give up false speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving food and drink.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, 1903)
💡 Reflection:
What are some ways we can protect our fasts and ensure we are pleasing Allah?
Segment 3: Embracing Ramadhan with Community Spirit
Ramadhan is not just a personal journey—it is a time to strengthen our bonds as an Ummah.
🔹 The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever provides iftar for a fasting person will earn the same reward as him, without decreasing the fasting person’s reward in the slightest.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhi, 807)
💡 Ways to Strengthen Our Community in Ramadhan:
🌙 Join Taraweeh prayers and encourage others
🌙 Help prepare Iftar meals for family or the needy
🌙 Give charity (Sadaqah) and support those in need
🌙 Make dua for the Ummah in hardship
Dua for Ramadhan
O Allah, allow us to reach Ramadhan, help us in fasting and praying during it, accept our deeds, forgive our sins, and free us from the Hellfire.
